A 50-years daily PAR dataset over 716 China meteorological stations

 

1.     Introduction

The daily Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) dataset was produced by Qin’s PAR model, which can estimate daily PAR from routine meteorological parameters (air temperature, air pressure, relative humidity, and sunshine duration) at China Meteorological Administration (CMA) stations. This dataset covers the period of 1961 ~ 2010 and 716 CMA stations. The dataset can be used for ecological studies.

3. Data archive and access

The dataset contains 716 CMA stations data, and each station has one file and the file is named as xxxxx.txt (e.g. 50136.txt), where xxxxx is the five-digital code number of the station. Each file was stored as ASCII format, and each line of the file contains four variables, which is corresponds to year, month, day, and daily mean PAR (W m-2). The missing value is denoted by "99999.0". A file named station.txt is also included in the dataset, which gives the geographical information of longitude, latitude and altitude for each station.
